ref to previous posting,  was trying to sell this plain-vanilla deck for DIYer

but no taker so i decided to embark another project to get this deck to perform

i planned to mount a Rega RB300 arm

and went ebay to order the original armbase but part of the chassis is blocking the arm pillar

after some research, it is confirm that the chassis needs to be modified 

below the chassis before and after modified

can you spot the difference?

next is to get the right screw for the armbase

ordered this armboard from ebay

was told this is the NOS from Thorens for Rega

 

all fixed and mounted the arm. 

WTF. the VTA is way too high

the armboard is totally not compatible

suspect the "NOS" is rejected/unwanted item

wasted USD19.90 (before postage)

custom made another armboard locally

using 3mm material with the same dimension for the mounting hole and screw positions

mounted the RB300 with Shure M95ED

all set and is ready to rock now

surprisingly, this combi is quite amazing
