Confession 3 - Linn LP12

99.99% satisfaction liao

took 3 whole nights to adjust the 3 super irritating suspension springs

getting that well align seriously required a huge demand in patience and energy

somehow i still unable to adjust the platter to the same height level (3cm for 4 angles)

that's why got no choice but to use few iron plates on the armboard to compensate it

somehow i believe this could be due to the weight of the FR arm

anyway is all up and running now!

i love the side view of the arformosia plinth

view the cover on and is simply gorgeous

all set is ready to rock....

 / / / a week a go / / /

My downsizing exercise is more or less achieved

Sold most of my beloved decks, Lenco, Thorens, Rega, Kenwood... all gone to a better home

Now left with last 3 decks

The Garrard 401, Thorens TD160 Super (in hibernate mode) and this long asleep LP12

This deck has been long asleep in the original box for 1.5-2years

decided to partner with the Fidelity Research FR-12 arm

lucky to acquired this arm which is pre-mounted to a Linn armboard

interesting arm. very versatile and i particularly like the lateral balance function

original base. before swap to Trampoline

quick look at the chassis

with beautify afromosia plinth and original cover

downloaded and followed the baerwald protractor

checked the mounting distance almost perfect at 215mm

all fixed up but the platter leveling is not optimize

front look with the trampoline base

and the power unit Armageddon

(yah, one speed only)

first mounted with the AT120E and tested

not satisfy. still need much tuning to optimize the deck

 will be back...

  2. Hi
I have the same tonearm and prefer it too the Ittock I had before. I use it with a Dynavector 20x2L.
